Perspectives on the limitation of the right to abortion during 1966-1989. Case study: Teleorman county

Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to give an account of the legislative and aspects related to the ban on abortions during 1966-1989. Starting from the motivations behind this decision, the paper aims to make a detailed analysis of Decree 770: context of issuing, analysis of the provisions and of the subsequent changes. The last section offers a comprehensive framework of debate regarding the limitation of the right to abortion, based on the perspectives and experience of the women from the period of Ceausescu.
